Fairview is a variegated 8ply acrylic yarn in cool blue and mint tones. The olours blend into each other along the strand, so a plain stitch pattern still gets a multi-coloured finish from a single ball, with no colour changes to manage.

It's soft, easy to work and has minimal splitting, which suits beginners and experienced knitters and crocheters alike. Each 100g ball has 189m of yarn.

What does variegated mean?

The yarn is dyed in several colours along its length, here blue and mint, so the colours change on their own as you work.

What needles or hook should I use?

Porta Craft recommends 4mm needles for all its 8ply acrylic yarns. For crochet, a hook around 4 to 5mm is a common starting point for 8ply; adjust to suit your tension.

Is 8ply the same as DK?

Yes. 8ply is the Australian name for double knitting (DK) weight yarn.

Can I machine wash it?

Yes, on a warm gentle cycle. Dry it flat in the shade and don't tumble dry.
