What are Lobster Clasps?
The lobster clasp is opened or closed by holding a small lever, usually with a fingernail, long enough to apply, then it is attached (or removed from) a short link-chain or a ring-like structure. Lobster clasps are often used for necklaces, bracelets, and keychains.

What are split rings?
A split ring is a type of ring made by winding hardened wire twice and pressing the two loops together. You can also describe the ring as two loops of a helix pressed flat together. Split rings are made from annealed wire because it does not deform easily. This is the same material used to make jump rings. The major difference between them is that a jump ring goes round once whereas a split ring goes round twice.
