What is the main purpose of using Embroidery Hoops?
There are many benefits to using Embroidery Hoops, however the main one can be that fabric naturally gathers under tension, so keeping the fabric tight inside a hoop will prevent your stitches from creating wrinkles and crinkling the fabric. You will have a much smoother piece of fabric when you're finished.

How to use a Embroidery Hoop?
Most embroidery hoops work the same way, and the Porta Craft Embroidery Hoops work quite the same. Simply loosen the screw on the top of the hoop, then separate the inner and outer rings of the hook. Then place the inner ring on a flat surface and place the fabric over the top. Then, with the outer hoop, place it over the top of the fabric and the inner hoop until its in between. Then tighten the hoop screw and pull the fabric gently through the hoop until it feels tight, a bit like a drum. You can trim some of the excess fabric around the hoop if you like, but Discount Craft recommends that you leave around 10cm of fabric around the hoop.
